Rachel More Trio
The Rachel More Trio, perform a mixture of cool sophisticated jazz standards, swing, blues and bossa nova favourites. Their repertoire includes numbers made popular by the original jazz divas like Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, but they are often given a modern twist more in the style of Diana Krall and Michael Buble. A varied mix of swing, blues, bossas and latin including songs made famous by Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee to name but a few. Rachel also performs ‘jazzed up’ arrangements of classic pop and soul songs in her repertoire so there is a reference point for all.
Over the last few years she has been building up quite a following on the UK jazz circuit as a singer/songwriter. Her debut jazz album All My Tomorrows, released by 33 Jazz Records, has been well received and benefits from regular airplay on a number of radio stations both in the UK and overseas. She has performed her own cabaret show at Live on the Park, and other appearances include the National Theatre, Radio 4’s Loose Ends and ITV’s Meridian Tonight. She has already worked with many notables in the music industry such as bassist Geoff Gascoyne, currently on tour with Jamie Cullum, Alec Dankworth, Derek Nash (Jools Holland Band) and Scott Hamilton.
Recent events include headlining at the renowned Jazz Divas Festival. She is currently working on her second album a jazz/pop fusion which will include more of her own compositions and arrangements.
“The music performed by Rachel More Jazz swings! The ballads are delivered by Rachel beautifully and with sensitivity and she can also get people up dancing to salsa to songs such as ‘Sway’ or jive to ‘Route 66’. Rachel is a vivacious singer with a beautiful, rich voice. She sings the greatest of jazz tunes with her own unique, delightful style and with fresh interpretations" ~ Antony Steinberg (Jazz Promoter)
