The Travelling Talesman
"Tales of Witches, Wizards, Spells and Enchantment"
Energetic and engaging re-tellings of heroic and magical myths, folktales and legends from the snows of Northern Europe to the sands of the Middle East.
Storyteller The Travelling Talesman has toured the country from Penzance to York, for feasts, festivals and fun since the early nineties. Old, young and all those in between have faced The Mester Stoorworm with Assipattle, ventured into the Wild Wood with The Little Bull Calf, reclaimed the Mead of Poetry with the Norse God Odin or raced against the Devil with the humble hedgehog.
High spots over the years include: telling ''The Death of Baldur'' to two thousand people on the banks of the river Ouse for the Jorvik Viking Festival boat burning, a three and a half hour continuous rolling performance on top of a misty hill for Devon Hospice Dreamwalk and being told by a child on a the story walk of Billy and The Witch of Nidd "This is great! It''s like we''re really in the story, it''s like... I''m Billy... It''s like we''re all Billy!"
