Pumpkin & Beer Festival - Beers List


On 1st October we have the annual Pumpkin and Beer Festival with a great selection and variety of beers, ales and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, and live music from The Zen Hussies.

See the preliminary guest beer list below, others will also be added on the day. We will also have our very own Hattie Brown's 'Hopsworth' breweed specially for the festival, and which contains fresh green hops from the Square & Compass garden!.


Bitter Bully - 3.8% - Cheddar Brewery
A pale ale in the new world style with a big citrus hop character and a thirst-quenching dry finish. Brewed using the highest quality Pale Ale, Maris Otter and Wheat malts and hopped with a blend of American Amarillo, Cascade and Simcoe whole hops.
Festival Ale - 3.8% - 1648 Brewery
Light/pale coloured beer with an unexpected under tone of fresh apple and floral sweetness. Custom brewed for Chiddingly Festival to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
Filly Close Blonde - 3.9% - Reedley Hallows Brewery
A very well balanced blonde golden ale. Bitter and spicy with a good fruity finish.
Brainstorm - 4% - Spitting Feathers Brewery
A straw coloured beer with a zesty, dry flavour.
Centennial Steam Beer - 4% - Maxim Brewery
Priors Well Pale - 4% - Grafton Brewery
White Elephant - 4% - Elephant School Brewery
Golden mild brewed with coriander. Elephant School Brewery is the rebellious offspring of Brentwood Brewery. The beers are not along the traditional lines of its parent, so expect some rather different types of beers.
Mosaic Pale - 4.1% - Hammerpot Brewery
Brewed with extra pale kilned English Maris Otter barley and American Mosaic hops. The result is a crispy, hoppy, fruity pale ale with hints of lemon, peach, mango and pine.
South Sea Pale - 4.1% - Elland Brewery
A pale ale brewed with a combination of New Zealand hops producing hints of orange,marmalade and black pepper flavors and a citrus/tropical aroma.
Westward Ho - 4.1% - Summerskils Brewery
Golden amber coloured refreshing beer. Initial light fruit taste followed by a zesty and fruity finish.
Drizzle (lemon ) - 4.2% - Colchester Brewery
Brewed using natural fresh lemons and their zest this amazing blonde beer is a real thirst quencher. With the addition of honey malt from Germany and Concorde, a development hop from Alsace, it is amazingly spicy with hints of wild honey sweetness. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
King John - 4.2% - Andwell Brewery
This Pale Ale takes its name from the castle built by King John in 1207, located less than a mile from the original Brewery, and from where he rode out to Runnymede to sign the Magna Carta. The beer is deep amber in colour with a blend of pale ale and crystal malt. The bitterness and fruity aroma are developed from a combination of hops.
Tipple Hop - 4.2% - Partners Brewery
An american style pale ale made with Williamette, Cluster and Cascade Hops, creating a beer with an excellent bitterness and a fabulous hoppy aftertaste.
Hopsworth - 4.4% - Hattie Brown's Brewery
Made specially for the Pumpkin and Beer festival, using fresh green hops from the Square & Compass pub garden.
O3 Boss - 4.4% - Otley Brewery
Chestnut red, premium bitter made with Centennial, Nugget & Challenger hops and Pale, Crystal malts. Traditional hasn't got to be boring, that was why they made Boss, a nod to great British brewing at its best.
Venus - 4.4% - Black Hole Brewery
Miami Weiss - 4.5% - Vale Of Glamorgan Brewery
A truly transatlantichoppy American wheat beer. 50/50 Briish pale malt and wheat, gently hopped with American Cascade and Chinook. Fermented with German weissbier yeast for a lively, cloudy and full flavour finish.
Old Liquorice Stout - 4.5% - Empire Brewery
Rich, robust and velvety black liquorice stout. Divine.
Potus Ale - 4.7% - Loddon Brewery
Brewed with centennial, sterling, azacca and wai-iti hops, POTUS is tropical, fruity and completely delicious. At 4.7% it packs a punch, as well as offering perfect late summer refreshment.
Broad Gauge - 4.8% - Box Steam Brewery
A malty ruby bitter with a delicate lemon aroma and a fruity bittersweet finish.
Blonde - 5% - Bank Top Brewery
An extremely pale ale made with New Zealand hops resulting in a pleasant woody flavour and distinct berry aroma. "A lusciously full bodied bitter!"
East Street Cream - 5% - RCH Brewery
This enigmatic full bodied beer with malty hoppy fruit bitter with a sweet taste which all vie for dominance in this complex and well crafted premium chestnut coloured ale. Brewed to celebrate the 500th guest beer at the Dartmouth Inn, Newton Abbot, and named by a customer in a competition. It went down so well that it has become a regular beer. Farmers Pale - 5% - Bradfield Brewery
A distinctive fruity pale ale, well balanced with a powerful floral bouquet, full-bodied and a predominantly dry aftertaste.

Stone the Crows - 5.4% - Lymstone Brewery
A rich red to black beer carefully crafted from the finest crystal and chocolate malts. Chewy juicy fruit flavours give way to a deep lingering bitterness provided by an abundance of Styrian Goldings, Millennium and Nugget hops. This popular beer is available on a permanent basis.
S.O.S Saint Or Sinner - 6.6% - Pot Belly Brewery
A Ruby Red Bitter with a sacred strength of 6.66%, and a full bodied taste giving way to a slight fruity finish
