Tobias Ben Jacob Tobias’ live show is a dynamic and emotionally charged affair, ranging from high-crystalline falsetto led tracks like ‘We Are The First Ones Now’ to more driving riff-driven earthy numbers like ‘I Breathe In Life.’ He also plays in a duo with upright bass player and singer Lukas Drinkwater. The pair released the double A -side ‘Burning Low/Autosong’ on Folkstock Records in March and have an EP due for release in the summer. The duo played their first gig together at Glastonbury 2014 and have been captivating audiences on the UK festival and acoustic scene since. Some of Tobias’ career highlights to date have included performing live on air at BBC’s Maida Vale Studios for ‘Late Junction’ on Radio 3, recording music in Nashville, Tennessee and in Livingstone Studios, London, as well as touring many UK venues and festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, Secret Garden Party, Somersault, Larmer Tree and Electric Picnic. Prior to going solo Tobias played in ‘The Roots Union’ alongside Folk Award winners Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin. Lukas Drinkwater Currently touring as a solo performer, as part of a duo with acclaimed acoustic troubadour Tobias ben Jacob, with European festival favourites Tankus the Henge, and as a duo with BBC Folk Award nominee Ange Hardy – Lukas, rightly earns his title as one of the busiest musicians in the UK.
